Virtual Christmas Concert 2021
The Music Department has been working hard to record and produce a virtual Christmas concert. Although it’s a shame not to perform to a live audience, it has still been a fun experience. Each group has performed their own piece and the concert ends with many performing together in a fun festive finale.
Pour yourself a drink, get the mince pies ready and enjoy ‘a touch of Christmas’.
Thank you to all the pupils and staff that participated in the Music departments Winter Concert.
For those that missed it or simply want to re-live the enchanting experience, we hope you enjoy the files below.
Miss Marshall and the Music Department.
On Thursday 3rd May 2018, we held our fourth annual Battle of the Bands competition. 8 bands entered from Years 7 right up to year 12 and the evening was a huge success. Well done to all bands that took part and congratulations to Phoenix (Jaimie Dawson, Bridget Mahoney and Paddy Tighe) who were this years winning band, as voted for by the audience. Our comperes (Maria Custodio and Leah King) did a fabulous job of introducing each band. We look forward to seeing you next year
Up In The Clouds
On Friday 20th November 2015, a selection of students from Year 7 and 8 were invited to carol sing at M&S, Rickmansworth. These students have shown an interest in their carol singing projects this term. A selection of Sixth Form students also packed away customers’ shopping. These activities helped raised funds for the PFA. We received positive comments from lots of the public and great fun was had by all!
On the 26th March 2015 the Music Department took students from Year 8, 12 and 13 to the Southbank Centre to participate in a Gamelan workshop. Gamelan is type of music from Indonesia which all Year 8s have studied this year and the upper sixth students are also studying a piece of Gamelan music for their A level. During the workshop we first learnt some background information about the history of Gamelan music and how to correctly play the instruments. We then had the chance to play the instruments and learnt a traditional Gamelan song that we performed together. The day was exciting, interesting and inspiring and really brought what we had previously learnt in school to life.

Well done to all the bands that competed on Thursday evening. We heard from ‘The Icebreakers’, ‘The Northern Line’, ‘The Regal Narwhals’, ‘The New Strange’ and ‘Vinyl Plan’. We also had a special guest performance from ‘Funk Fever’, a few faces you may recognise…
‘The Northern Line’, starring Daisy-Anne Breen Kalsi, Nicola Rogers, Andrew Laszcz and Michael Evans, are our new trophy winners after a close audience vote.
Thank you to our presenter Annie Beckley who kept us entertained between acts and to Luke Gomm for mixing the sound.
The Winter Concert took place on 4th Decmeber 2014
A great night was had by all and congratulations go to all students and staff who took part.
