National Competition 2013

Year 8 have been given the opportunity to enter the above national competition. The competition allows students to explore careers in the NHS but more importantly teaches them how to research independently and to extract the key information that will be used in their presentations. These key independent learning skills will stand them in good stead as they research GCSE Options in year 9 and further education and employment choices in the future. The competition is open now and closes on December 20th 2013. By 20th December copies of the students presentation materials must be with Mr Ritchie. He will send them off to the NHS in early January 2014. Mr Ritchie is acting as the students mentor for the duration of the competition

Extra-Curricular Attendance PRIZE DRAW!!!

As an extra incentive for students to attend extra-curricular sports and activities, the PE Department is offering raffle tickets to students who attend extra-curricular sports clubs. Therefore, if you attend 2 different clubs per week, you will receive 2 raffle tickets for that week – the more the merrier and the more tickets you have, the better chance you have of winning!

These tickets will be entered into a prize draw, to be drawn at the end of every term, with the winners winning great prizes and privileges from the PE Department such as skiing lessons, paint balling etc. (Prizes TBC at a later date).

There will be one prize draw per year group (7-10) making your chances of winning even higher!

Get yourself down to as many extra-curricular activities, whether that be to compete as part of a team, socialise with friends, or to keep fit and increase your chances of winning these great prizes!
