Whilst we ‘wait’ for Jesus and the celebration of Christmas, we remember that Jesus’ coming was waited for since the beginning. The stories of Adam & Eve, Noah, Joseph, Moses and many others remind us that we are a people in exile, waiting for our Saviour to bring us home.
In what ways do you feel ‘far from home’ or ‘unsettled’?
Jesus offers us the chance to feel at peace today. Ask him for his peace now.

Grant your faithful, we pray, almighty God,
the resolve to run forth to meet your Christ
with righteous deeds at his coming,
so that, gathered at his right hand,
they may be worthy to possess the heavenly kingdom.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, for ever and ever.
